I AM
COURAGEOUS
“Release it out. Talk to me, I’m here for you.”
This sister called me at midnight, she was so broken, crying very hard and was short of jumping off the building. I’m so grateful that I picked up the call - from that moment, I realised my value, the value of my voice.
Though I am just a domestic worker, I see myself as this extraordinary person. I see myself beyond the title of a helper. I see myself as a human, a woman who came out, brave enough to face the world.
I’m existing not only for myself, I want to become a voice of empowerment. It gives me inner satisfaction when I realise how much I can do and have done to help others, giving my life a deeper meaning.
"COURAGE IS WHAT IT TAKES TO STAND UP AND SPEAK, AND ALSO SIT DOWN AND LISTEN"
My picture is about a woman with a smile of satisfaction and success.
Realistically, I want to be a picture of success turning those dreams and aspirations to reality because that will be the most powerful testimony of my journey to becoming the person I visualise to be. I want to be an owner of my own organic farm, supply the market with fresh vegetables products and run my own café. I hope to apply the skills I have acquired in baking for my café. I also want to become a voice of empowerment within the women and create programs for the youth in my hometown. I hope to continue running Paint A Smile Project, a charity that is intended for youth and children that promotes reading and brings simple joy through giving.
