“This showcase is a life changing for me and eye opening to all people around me. I am immensely grateful to be part of this event, I feel valued, seen, heard, and learnt how I see my self-worth in this society. It has brought me to a next level of social interaction where I make new friends, and especially connected to our migrant brothers. It opens lots of opportunities as well in some field of public speaking and I am much confident now to talk and share my life experiences. Also, my employer sees that I am more than just a helper by seeing this showcase, she was amazed what migrants community was doing. As for my family especially my kids they valued and appreciated all my sacrifices abroad and why I chose to be away from them. Thank you to the whole ‘Do You See Me?’ team.”
- Jenelyn Laybe, Philippines
“The event was very impactful in that it brought both locals and migrants together in recognition of their place in our society and the common themes that we share (eg. sacrifice, courage, family, etc). I especially enjoyed the panel discussion as the sharing was authentic and powerful. This would not have been possible if not for the level of trust that was in the room.”
– Ashokan Ramakrishnan, Singapore
